July 25th, 2018 - We received 500 Almond Mountian Trees from a private donar - The Great Green Macaws feed on seeds, fruits, hard-shelled nuts, and flowers, and they make seasonal movements throughout their ranges in response to the presence of fruiting trees. They are particularly associated with the mountain almond, or almendro tree, which provides food and nest sites for the bird across much of its range. The trees that have been donated will help support future generations of the great macaws in the area and many other birds and animal species.

Extremely exciting day for us today with the initiation of one of our top priorities. In a joint effort Our Planet Foundation along with researcher Carolina Sáenz Bolaños from the National University of Costa Rica (UNA), placed 3 trail cameras today inside the area of our farm we're converting into an ideal base (analogous reforestation system) for a thriving biodiverse ecosystem to thrive suitable for the jaguar and the great green macaws found naturally in our area. Beautiful day here today on the Caribbean bringing together a shared experience of life generated through our "sponsoring a tree initiative" that will help ensure future food sources along with supporting habitat for our endangered great green macaws (Ara ambiguus) in the reserve. Thank you Cathy and Spencer for helping plant the Mountain almond trees with us as they are one of the main food sources for these great birds! This puts us within reach of our 500 tree goal.

Planting a tree is an act of love and kindness towards giving back to the very planet that has for so long been giving to us uncondiontinally the natural resources that we all use for our survival. We do not know if we will enjoy its shade, fruits or intrinsic beauty, but we do know that some person or form of life will and in that reason resonates our responsibility to act as ONE expressing our gratitude, and compassion for our beautiful earth by planting trees ❤🌱🌎

We celebrated National Tree Day here in Costa with Our Planet Foundation by giving a tree to a very special University student, Fabiola Madrigal as a symbol of her passion and dedication to carry out her professional practice to graduate in Geographical Sciences of the National University.

It is a new seed of hope that grows for the development of the country and the world.
Trees for life !!! ❤🌳🌎

Thank you so much Fabiola 🌱

In an expression of immense generosity from the heart, Our Planet Foundation (OPF) is dedicating this extraordinary day and beloved message to thanking the 145 volunteers who came together on this day in support of OPF as a joint community effort in helping raise conscious awareness towards a sustainable future for all our planets precious inhabitants, thus bringing the Trees For Life (TFL) project into a harmonious symbol of flourishing benevolence to be enjoyed by all future generations of living creatures large and small. Today with combined efforts we managed to plant an astonishing 350 trees, all of which will help replenish sustainable habitats to all our forestall inhabitants for many generations to come.

What started out today as a grassland pasture for cows, will now soon become a vibrant forest filled with life, thanks to our contributions. Words alone cannot describe the immense gratitude and emotional feelings that come from collaborated efforts of coming together in a participation of compassion towards the preservation of our planet. Individually we are but a rain drop in the bucket, together our rain drops come together as a raging river of change. Thank you! Thank you!

A warm and special thank you to the Scouts and leaders of Limon group #144, Bataan group #132 and Siquirres group #228, for a very honorable and dignified symbolic gesture of gratitude towards nature helping contribute to the Trees for Life program. You are proof that volunteers are people who don't want to be thanked for helping others, but want to thank others for giving them the opportunity to help. Thank you so much for all your hard work, dedication and time.

The “Trees For Life” project is a grassroots ecological initiative of Our Planet Foundation focused on raising conscious awareness towards our planets natural and vital resources.
Working together with local landowners, communities, private, governmental and people to create sustainable, self-sufficient communities through conservation and wildlife management programs by means of investigation, education and development. Our aim is to enhance habitats inside and outside formally protected areas for the benefit of all creatures on this Earth.
